A man shot and killed a black bear in Alaska - the animal slid down a hill and severely injured the hunter.
In Alaska, a hunter has been hit by a wounded black bear. 28-year-old William McCormick and his 19-year-old hunting partner had shot near Carter Lake south of Anchorage on a black bear that stood on a rock above them. This is clear from a statement by the Department of Public Safety. The struck animal had then slid down the hill - directly to the two men.
The 28-year-old was hit by boulders and hit by the sliding bear. McCormick was critically injured and taken by helicopter to a clinic. His hunting partner was unhurt. The approximately 90-pound bear was killed in the incident on Saturday, CNN reported.
In Alaska live different types of bears, clashes with humans are not uncommon. It was not until Monday morning that a bear and two kittens had killed an 18-year-old worker at a silver mine in the southeast of the US state.
